
Following epileptic transmission being witnessed in the State owned Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES), the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Hon Taiwo Olatunbosun on led a delegation to the station to see to how the horrible situation could be abated.
The lackluster performance of the radio and television stations came on Sunday, when Governor Segun Oni was practically deprived of appearing on the Stations for its monthly media chat called "Governor's Explain", generating set supplying electricity packed up few minutes before the commencement of the programme
To anomaly, the state government had procured digital transposers and transmitters, as well as a modern Outside Broadcast Van to make the broadcasting outfit responsive to its statutory duties of information dissemination to the people of the State.
Briefing newsmen on the new development yesterday during the facilities tour of the Station, Olatunbosun expressed displeasure over Gov Oni's inability to appear on the station on Sunday.
On the rumoured take over of the station by contractors for effective management, the Commissioner dispelled the rumour, clarifying that the experts that were consulted on how the station could move forward stressing that their roles were advisory.
He said two renowned broadcasters, Dr Yemi Faroumbi , former chairman of the Osun State Broadcasting Service and Dr Tony Iredia , former Director-general of the Nigeria Television Authority(NTA) had been contacted for the purpose of redesigning the station.
Olatunbosun, said the Oni-led Administration had done enough in terms of financing for the station to give its best, calling on the management to step up action and perform to the expectations of the people, whom he said are yearning for, quality information, dissemination from the station.
He said that the State Government would no longer tolerate of sabotage laziness from any of the workers in the station calling on the workers to reciprocate the Government's gesture by giving out their best.
