More to Music than Just Singing - Inyanya

Inyanya Mbuk, winner of the recently concluded MTN Project Fame West Africa has confessed that there is much more to music than just singing.
He said the three-month long musical academy and contest has enabled him understand some very important aspects of been a musician than just singing songs and that there has been a very massive improvement in his musical ability since coming out of the academy as a winner.
The Cross River state born Mbuk revealed that apart from being the winner of the MTN Project Fame, his presence in the academy had contributed so much to his music career and largely improved his knowledge.
He acknowledged that there were several other talented singers in Nigeria who did not have the privilege of learning about the other important aspects of music like he did in the Project Fame Academy, adding that he will not relent in integrating all what he has learnt into his musical career, especially as plans to release his debut album are underway.
“Believe me, I have really learnt a lot of things and I have improved in my musical ability. Although I know I could sing well before going into the academy, but there is a lot more to music than just singing well and having a good voice; there are other very important aspects, talking about the song writing, arrangement, connecting with your audience, managing yourself well, having the right personality and character to go with your style of music, having self discipline, building the right image for yourself and all that. All these I have learnt in the academy. I think that has to a great extent made me a different person from who I was before the Project Fame.”
Mbuk, who now boasts of a massive fan club on Facebook, however expressed determination not to relent in his musical exploits besides being the winner of the MTN Project Fame West Africa contest.
He maintained that although the best thing that has happened to him is winning the MTN Project Fame, he is not going to let the prize and the fame get into his head, and will be focusing on achieving the best he can in terms of musical career, touching the lives of people and making them happy with his music.
“I believe in God and I know that He is the one behind everything that has happened to me. I am very confident that He will be with me all the way and coupled with the fact that I am determined to put in my best and use everything I learnt in the Academy to practice at every step in my career. So, there is no way I will not get to the greatest height that I dream of in my musical career.”
 The MTN Project Fame winner is already enjoying recognition in the Nigerian music scene as a new star in the bloc, especially with the recent release of his two new singles, one of which he did with Face titled: ‘No Time,’ and the other: ‘Love Truly,’ his popular composition in the Academy which he used to thrill fans at one of the shows.
 There is no doubt that his talent as a singer as well as his wealth of knowledge from the Academy will give him the leverage to attain greater heights in the music industry.
