This much was disclosed on Wednesday during a press conference hosted by the company at its corporate headquarters, Lagos.

Yudala made a grand entry into the e-commerce sector late last year, breaking all existing records in the process and setting new standards with several innovative strategies including the first drone delivery in the e-commerce world, launch of same day delivery on a nationwide scale, pioneer offline and online Black Friday sales as well as a slew of other exciting marketing campaigns such as Neighbour to Neighbour Mega Deals, Mid-Day Madness, Yu-Jara and Mobile Monday, among others, through which it has offered the consumer more value-added options.

In line with the foregoing, the company has made public its plans to celebrate customers whose patronage have gone a long way in making its first anniversary a huge success by instituting an annual multi-city digital entertainment concert like never before through Yudala Zero Gravity.

According to the details made available to the media, Yudala Zero Gravity will feature headline acts and the best artistes from the genres of Contemporary music and Rock Gospel from Nigeria and beyond, with the first edition scheduled to hold in three cities namely: Lagos, Abuja and Enugu. Each city will host two concerts: a Rock Gospel concert and Contemporary Music blast.

Yudala will offer free pass to existing customers on the basis of purchases made from August 1st 2016 on its online platform or chain of Experience Stores located nationwide.

In the words of Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, founder/vice president, “For every purchase made from any of our platforms from August 1st, shoppers will earn points and once they reach the purchase threshold for attendance, a notification will be sent informing them of this development. The customer will then get a chance to select his or her preferred city or cities of attendance. Also, customers will be upgraded to VIP or VVIP status based on further purchases which may take them to the threshold for these categories,” he disclosed.

It was further disclosed that for non-customers of Yudala who wish to attend the Zero Gravity concerts, tickets will be on sale at Yudala online and in every Yudala Experience Store in the preferred city of attendance.

Going by the information released by the company, Yudala Zero Gravity will witness pure acoustics performances delivered with world-class digital musical equipment from New Concept Media Group’s wide array which will be on full display at the events.

“Unlike other entertainment events that have been hosted in the past, guest artistes at Yudala Zero Gravity will not perform their hit tracks from recorded tapes and CDs. Instead, we will be setting a new standard with Yudala Zero Gravity as all invited artistes and performing acts will perform their songs to perfectly synchronized beats from a live band manned by a crew of experienced and talented musical performers, beat makers and multi-instrumentalists,” said Prince Ekeh.

“A lot of surprises are in store for attendees of this inaugural edition of Yudala Zero Gravity as we have put together a rich mixture of established stars and some eye-catching upcoming musical and comedy talents for this event. Apart from the headline artistes who will form the major attraction for the three cities of Lagos, Abuja and Enugu; plans have also been concluded with a number of other star acts in Rock Gospel and Contemporary Music who will thrill the audience in each city.

“As part of our ambition to give other cities a chance to experience the Zero Gravity storm, subsequent editions will see the selection of host cities based on revenue or returns posted online or by the various Yudala offline Experience Stores located in cities nationwide.”

Yudala also revealed that it has concluded a number of partnerships for the event with a number of interested corporate organizations, Original Equipment Manufacturers and a slew of media organizations.

Noble Ajuonu, head, Sydani Technologies Ltd., has urged the Federal Government to harmonise National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN) to tackle crimes and insecurity in the country.

Expert Urges FG to Harmonise NIN, BVN to Tackle Crimes

Ajuonu made the call at a media roundtable, organised by Sydani Group in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the roundtable focuses on driving sustainability through a comprehensive analysis of Nigeria’s key development areas.

Ajuonu said that Nigeria could overcome its security challenges and pave the way for a safer, more secure future for all Nigerians by embracing technology and implementing practical solutions,

“We need to harmonise data, prioritise seamless integration of databases like NIN, BVN, and security agency records, establish clear protocols for data sharing and access, with robust safeguards against misuse,’’ expert said.

According to him, the unified data pool will empower intelligence gathering and targeted operations.

He also called for investments in smart surveillance, intelligent video analytics software, training of personnel in data analysis, interpretation of data in real-time to combat crimes.

“There is need to implement a legal framework for call interception in criminal investigations, with strict oversight to prevent abuse, encourage community cohesion, training of tech savvy security personnel with tech-enabled tools.’’

Ajuonu also urged the government to address infrastructure deficit in technology, saying that technology was all encompassing to address insecurity.

“According to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), as of December 2023, only 104.2 million Nigerians had been enrolled for the National Identity Number (NIN).’’

Ajuonu added that over 122.2 million citizens left uncaptured for NIN were people in rural areas where enrolment centres, digital services were limited.

“Most crimes are being perpetuated from rural communities and this lack of comprehensive identification creates a gap where elements not captured in the national database can constitute public nuisance, crimes.

“There is the inadequacy in the integration of NIN, BVN and Voters Identification Number (VIN).

“Advanced call interception and analysis tools, used successfully in other countries, could provide invaluable insights into criminal networks and operations but infrastructure is lacking,’’ he said.

Also, Mr Godfrey Petgrave, the Agricultural Expert, Sydani Group, called for empowerment of smallholder farmers with access to finance and training to enhance productivity.

According to Petgrave, Nigeria requires policy reform and institutional strengthening to improve agricultural practices and embrace digital agriculture solutions to address food insecurity.

Mr Akolade Jimoh, another expert of the group on health, advocated for expanded community-based health insurance programmes for rural and underserved areas.

Jimoh added that the country needed to encourage Public Private Partnership to revolutionise products design and quality improvement on health services.
