CV Comms Moves to Reduce Operational Cost of Telcos

CV Comms West Africa Limited, a privately owned company with operations in Europe and Africa has begun full operations in Nigeria.
The company which provides complete turnkey service for a wide range of coverage enhancement and improvement solutions in the telecommunication sector such as towers mounted amplifiers, tower mounted booster, repeaters and BTS Hotel systems for both GSM and CDMA operators is now poised to reduce the cost of telecom operators on these services through effective maintenance and co-location initiatives.
According to a source from the company, BTS Hotel separates the BTS equipment from the desired antenna location, reducing infrastructure space requirements on antenna sites as well as reducing deployment costs (CAPEX).
It allows centralised location and management of BTS and support equipment which in turn reduces operational costs (OPEX).
The BTS Hotel concept is a managed network service targeted at mobile operators with capacity issues, providing 2G and 3G coverage in urban and densely populated urban regions.
GSM900, DCS1800 and UMTS increases up link sensitivity, improves up link call quality hence reduces dropped calls. It improves call hand over and reduces up link imbalance.
Based on integrated 2G and 3G technology which utilises fibre optic transmission infrastructure, shared central ‘BTS Hotel’ facility for operator equipment, the fibre optic hub of CV Comms’ unit can be used to distribute signals to remote site.
