Customers of Equitorial Trust Bank have commended the bank for its MoneyGram Redshops expansion policy that would see it operating from all its branches nationwide before the end of this year.
The ETB MoneyGram Redshop is dedicated exclusively to the provision of qualitative international money transfer business and operates 11 MoneyGram Redshops, the largest by any MoneyGram agent bank in the country.
The bank was lauded for taking international money transfer business to the Northern part of the country by opening a MoneyGram Redshop in Kaduna, the first in the entire northern part of the country by any agent bank.
With this development, customers who attended the opening of the ETB MoneyGram Redshop in Kaduna opined that the bank has indeed confirmed its dominance in international money transfer business in Nigeria with its rapid Redshop expansion.
Alhaji Isiak Babatunde, managing director, Arewa Metal Company commended the bank for what he described as outstanding MoneyGram Redshop expansion drive. He noted that the opening of MoneyGram Redshop in Kaduna would afford the people in the entire city the opportunity to use the mode as an outlet to collect money sent to them from abroad.
While commending the bank for expanding international money transfer business by making MoneyGram facility available to the entire people of the north, Alhaji Jubril Alkadri of Lino Motors, an automobile motor company based in Kano called on the bank to consider the need to expand “the unique services to other parts of the North, particularly Kano”.
Meanwhile, the bank has assured that it would continue to pursue its vision to remain the undisputed leading and fastest growing MoneyGram Agent in Africa.

To sustain the leadership position of the bank in international money transfer, the bank said the institution would continue to provide tested human and material resources, give professional training to staff handling MoneyGram transactions and expand the operational base of the bank with emphasis on opening of MoneyGram dedicated shops (“Redshops”) throughout the country.
It would be recalled that since the bank joined the MoneyGram International in 2004, it has won two major awards, the Best Performing New Agent Bank Award in 2006 and the MoneyGram Africa Agent Achievement Award for 2007/2008 beating over 50 other banks offering Moneygram services in Africa and six others in Nigeria
