SA Insurance Plc, one of the nation’s top five insurance companies, has taken the purchase process of its Travel Insurance policy to another level as it has created a web portal called SA Travel Portal. The Portal is designed to serve as a travel supermarket where intending international travelers can get options of different travel policies for travels to Schengen and African countries as well as the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe. In a statement issued by the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Tom Imokhai, explained that “the decision to create this portal was informed by our commitment to use the modern technology at our disposal to render patronage of this product free of any stress for international travelers.” Noting that customers could access the policy from accredited agents, Imokhai explained that, “the SA Travel Insurance Policy is essentially unique because all transactions are done directly online at the very convenience of the customer at his office, home, in the car or at the cafes. “The point is that with the advancement in world technology, people want to carry out transactions with much more ease. This portal was, therefore, created to ensure a less cumbersome mode of patronizing our travel cover. So, rather than go through a third party, the customer can actually do the purchase directly by himself online,” he stated. He added that the company was in partnership with two notable organizations which have internationally recognized travel insurance packages designed to meet all known travel requirements, stating that they were further noted for helping travelers to obtain travel visas from different Embassies. The managing director who said the policy mainly covers repatriation matters, health, loss of baggage and other issues experienced during the trip, disclosed that the low cost travel policy covers a period between 90 and 180 days whereas the multi-travel cover was for a year.
