Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu, Lamido of Adamawa has donated radio communication equipment and other facilities worth N1.5 million to the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) to help the station propagate peace and highlight significant activities of traditional institutions in the state.
The equipment donated included sets of digital radio recorders, computers, security gadgets, stationery and 10,000 drums of diesels.
National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has threatened sanctions on any broadcast station for improper subtitling of movies or use of indecent language.
The commission is drawing powers conferred on it by section 20 (1) of the NBC Act No. 38 of 1992 (as amended) which stipulates as follows: “The Commission may, with the approval of the Minister make regulations generally for the purpose of giving effect to the provisions of this Act’’.

Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has arraigned the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) and seven of its officials at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, for performing the functions of a collecting society without the approval of the Commission as required by law.
The officials of MCSN arraigned by the NCC before Honourable Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa on December 4, 2012 were Mayowa Ayilaran, Louis Udoh, Halim Mohammed, Banjo Omolara Biliqis, Yusuf Adogi Benson, Olakayode Ajayi and Njoku Gladys.
