Arogundade, Sidmach MD Bags ‘Man of The Year’ Award

Otunba Adedayo Peter Arogundade ‘APS’, the managing director of Sidmach Technologies Nigeria Limited, was at the weekend unveiled at the Nigeria CommunicationsWeek ‘Man of the Year’.

Prior to Sidmach, Mr. Arogundade worked at the Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL), now defunct, Unilever PLC, Shell Petroleum Development Company and Data Sciences.

He is an acclaimed System Developer, with numerous IT and executive leadership certifications acquired in Nigeria and overseas.

Speaking on the “Man of the Year’, Mr. Ken Nwogbo, editor In-chief/CEO, Communications Week Media, described Mr. Arogundade as a national leader in Computer and ICT awareness.

“Through his productive leadership, Sidmach, the company he leads has been singled out in 2016 by BoICT as both the Indigenous Software Provider of the Year in Nigeria and ICT Innovator of The Year.

Also in this same year, Technology Africa, during their “Titans of Technology Awards” recognized Sidmach as “Most Innovative Education Solutions Provider of the Year”.

These are testaments to Mr. Arogundade’s pious leadership that has positioned the Company as indigenous IT firm of repute.

Brief Profile
Mr. Arogundade hails from OgidiIjumu in Kogi State. He is a fellow of Nigeria Computer Society of Nigeria (fncs) and a member of Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria(mcpn) and member of Institute of Directors (M.IoD).

He is a graduate of the prestigious University of Lagos with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.

His career spans over 3 decades in various organizations such as NITEL, Unilever, Consolidated Ace Ltd, Shell Petroleum and Data Sciences. He is a co-founder of Sidmach Technologies Nigeria Ltd (Sidmach) and has served the company in different capacities as Executive Director, Finance and Admin, Executive Director, Sales and Marketing, Executive Director ICT Infrastructure and Executive Director Software Development and now the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

Avid promoter of Youth Education and Empowerment. He chairs the APS Youth Foundation that awards scholarship to students at various level and on the heel of this, Chief APS Arogundade has bagged various Recognition and Merit Awards in different Nigerian universities and Polytechnics including:

Excellent Leadership Award by National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS)

National Philanthropist of Our Time-2011/2012 by Kogi State University’s Department of Mass Communication

Orphans Father of the Year by National Youth Services Corps (NYSC) Merit Award 2012

Special Recognition Award by Nigerian Association of Computer Science Students (NACOSS) University of Lagos 2015 among others.

Compassionate humanitarian, whose life has been dedicated to the building of communities.

As part of giving back to the community, he started ‘JustDay Educational Services’.

Elder APS Arogundade is an immense man of faith. While blazing trails in the business world and societal building on one hand, he is also involved deeply in the service of God on the other hand.

Glo Urges Workers to Reflect on Furthering National Growth on May Day

Telecommunications services provider, Globacom, has admonished Nigerian workers to reflect on more ways of contributing further to the growth of the country.

Prof. Aliyu, AI Practitioner to Keynote ABoICT 2024

He added that, AI is considered to have the potential to instigate a fourth industrial revolution,1 and is dramatically changing people’s patterns of interaction and economic activities.

“The traditional factors of production and physical capital and labour may no longer promote substantial economic growth. It is generally believed that AI will be one of the most important factors determining future economic growth,” he said.

A professor of microelectronics and a scholar-practitioner in artificial intelligence and deep machine learning for industrial applications and high-speed application processors. His research interests include Multimodal AI models for high-efficiency industrial robot applications and Human AI interactions.

He also has adjunct academic professorships at five African, USA, and UK universities. Holds a BS in Applied Physics Electronics from Karlsruhe and A Bello Universities in Germany and Nigeria, an MBA in International Business Management from the University of London, an MSEE (Master of Engineering, Electronics), and a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from the University of Wales.

Prof. Aliyu is the global quality director for Bourns Inc., Riverside, California, USA, an electronics system, and components manufacturer. I oversee quality functions in 21 factories worldwide.

He has also held quality and operational management leadership positions at National Semiconductors, Bell Labs-Lucent Technology, Texas Instrument, Global Foundries, and Roper Technologies USA.

Authored and coauthored over 30 Advanced Technology United States-issued patents in High-Speed Application Processors and Contributed to over 40 international impact Journals, chapters, and conferences; FASI, SMIEEE USA, MIEE UK, M. Inst pf Physics Chartered Phys and C Eng UK.

Past lecturers included Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, then executive vice chairman, Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC); Engr. Yomi Bolarinwa, former Director-General of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC); Dr. Jean Luc Fort, CEO at OR System France and a specialist in Counterparty Risk; and Professor Chris Nwagboso, Chairman, Knowledge Factory International, United Kingdom.
