‘Idea hacks’ App for Nigerian Entrepreneurs Unveiled
Mr Peter Ayeni, who developed an App tagged: “Mbele,” says there is a new platform, “idea hacks” to help entrepreneurs create innovative solutions to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ayeni unveiled the platform while addressing newsmen on the benefits of the new Mbele feature over the weekend in Abuja.
He said that the Mbele’s area of focus would be to explore the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which had 17 agenda that could be tapped.
The Mbele founder recalled that some reports had feared that Nigeria might not meet the timeline for the SDGs if more effort were not committed to it.
He explained that the benefits of idea hacks would be useful in realising the SDGs via the use of technology.
He emphasised the need for Nigerians to leverage on innovative ideas of technology to solving the country’s problems.
Ayeni explained that “idea hacks” is an innovative way of addressing issues that would teach entrepreneurs the techniques of solving problem. He said, ‘‘Idea hacks is a platform created by Mbele; it uses the design thinking framework for problem solving and can be applied to businesses.”
He expatiated further that ‘idea hacks’ could be utilised to establish businesses, adding that it could also help in making the government of a country better.
Ayeni said that ‘idea hack’ would enhance collaboration that would allow people to work together to solve particular problem, adding that the target audience are adolescents and youths.
He added that school leavers could take advantage of ‘idea hacks’ to come up with innovative solution that would solve a hard problem in their environment and become an entrepreneur.
It was gathered that Ayeni had in December, 2017 developed “Mbele App” to help increase access to quality education, using technology and creating a fun learning environment in Nigeria.
He said that the new platform was sequel to the need to provide Nigerian entrepreneurs with the avenue of improving their businesses, adding that the era of Nigerian entrepreneurs doing the same thing was over.
He argued that most of the courses offered in Nigerian universities were not providing the needed solution to be an entrepreneur.
He stressed the need for the country to realize that it had a localised problem and must apply a localised solution. Ayeni said that he was planning a nationwide training in form of a workshop for young entrepreneurs starting from Abuja in August.
According to him, Nigeria entrepreneurs are doing very well, but are not making headway like their counterparts in the western world because the western world have the needed infrastructure that support their growth.

Legit.ng, Shade of Life Foundation Partner to Advance Autism Awareness in Nigeria
Legit.ng recently joined forces with the Shade of Life Foundation to become a voice of autism, and drive advocacy for improved media support during Autism Awareness Month.
Conversations around media support exploration was led by Joseph Omotayo, head of Department for Human Interest Stories at Legit.ng, and Dr. Eziafakaku Nwokolo, founder and CEO of the Shade of Life Foundation,
This partnership is a response to the concerns raised by organizations like the Shade of Life Foundation about the level of support received from the media in discussing autism as a disability.
While other disabilities may receive attention, autism, with its critical developmental implications often lacks adequate representation in mainstream media.
Recognizing the importance of addressing these concerns, Legit.ng took proactive steps by integrating itself into the essence of autism awareness.
It facilitated a one-hour workshop with Dr. Nwokolo, the founder of the foundation, to deepen our understanding of autism, its various spectrums, and the language boundaries associated with it.
Other steps we took in advocating autism awareness in the media, can be seen in our attached press release.
Legit.ng believes that by amplifying the voices of autism and advocating for better media representation, we can contribute to creating a more inclusive and accepting society for all.
