Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (Atcon) has announced the establishment of a Library of ICT magazines, journals and periodicals that are published in Nigeria in its secretariat. An announcement from the association’s secretariat said the association “appreciates the significant roles that publications played in the evolution of our industry and it is our desire to keep a living archive of past and current publications of this genre”. The library is conceived to be a resource centre in the secretariat where historians, researchers, students and businessmen can use in telling the story for the good purpose of shaping the future of Nigeria’s economy. “We request all publishers to take advantage of this facility to store an archive of their works by sending to our Secretariat a copy of every edition that is released to the market. We have already created a shelf for every publication and we hope to be in position to advise those who contact us on the status of publications of our industry in Nigeria as we march on with our mandate of the protection of investments in our industry”. Meanwhile, Atcon is about to publish a compendium showcasing the corporate profiles of its member and their businesses. The primary objective is to present to local and international audiences, in a lucid and concise format, key information on our members’ products and services with a view to popularizing their businesses as well as enhancing their marketing efforts. Its circulation will reach the various economic sectors of Nigeria’s economy, extending further to embassies in Nigeria, Nigerian diplomatic missions abroad as well as all trade missions doing business with the Industry.
