Carmudi.com (Nigeria) is set to rebrand and beautify the United Berger Market, Lagos.
According to a statement = by Vivian Chidinma, public relations manager of the Company, “Carmudi has been in a partnership with the United Berger Dealers Association and because of this we decided to carry out this exercise.
Highlights of the event, she said, include cleaning up of the market and areas around it, repairing of depleted structures and painting the structures in the market.
It will be attended by Carmudi Staff and dealers in the market.
“Carmudi Nigeria, in recognition of the state of the United Berger Market, decided to seek the aid of the automobile dealers and paint the market blue. This is not a-company hype but a recognition of the need to take care of our surroundings.
The aim of this event is to, “To repair dilapidated shacks and shanty houses and give the entire market a face lift and to inspire the people of Berger market and sanitize them on the importance of maintaining and keeping the environment clean.
United Berger Market also referred to as Africa’s largest automobile market for used cars has over 10,000 vehicles valued at several billions of Naira.
She recalled that the market which was officially recognized in 1993 as one of Africa’s Largest used car market grew to become the largest in Africa.
The market presently has over 500 registered car dealerships and produces annual revenue of up to 3 billion naira according to reports.
There has also been a steady increase in automobile sales in Nigeria.
Reports showed a 300% increase of automobile sales between 2010 and 2013 in Nigeria thus creating a vibrant market for used cars.
