FireEye, the leader in next generation threat protection, stopping advanced malware, zero-day, and targeted APT attacks that bypass traditional defenses, said it is prepared to hold a webinar on inforsecurity to educate chief information security officers (CISOs) on trends in cyber crime.
In an invitation extended to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, FireEye referred to analyst research which painted gloomy picture for some CISOs.
According to the report, failing to prepare for a security breach will cost CISOs their jobs in the future.
Webinar, however, is stands for “Web-based seminar, a presentation, lecture, workshop or seminar that is transmitted over the Web. A key feature of a Webinar is its interactive elements — the ability to give, receive and discuss information. Contrast with Webcast, in which the data transmission is one way and does not allow interaction between the presenter and the audience”.
Meanwhile, FireEye added that preventing all security breaches might be impossible. But preparing a fully-documented and tested response plan is something CISOs can, and must, do.
“But companies also need to improve their security monitoring, if they are to prove to regulators that they are dealing properly with security threats.
“Forthcoming EU rules, under the proposed data protection regulation, could force companies to boost both their security monitoring and response plans,” the document reads.
During the session, FireEye looks at best practice around threat monitoring and incident response; how legislative changes will place new demands on info security teams and how technology can help organisations stay ahead of attackers.
The Webinar tagged: “Threat Monitoring: Best Practice Today, The Law Tomorrow?” holds on December 5, 2013, at 15:00 GMT and will last for 1 hours.
