Globacom, African telecoms giant, has rolled out a new series of Mobile Subscriber Identification Digital Numbers (MSIDN) for new subscribers to its network. The new MSIDN series begins with 0815.
Unveiling the new number series in Lagos, Mohamed Jameel, Globacom’s group chief operating officer, said the rolling out of the new number series followed the expansion of the network’s capacity and a rapid increase in its subscriber base, hence the need to create room for new customers.
According to him, the new number series means that 10 million more subscribers can sign on to the network and enjoy “sharp voice quality calls and the most competitive prices”.
They can also enjoy a vast array of value added services and products including the newly introduced Glosoccer that updates users on football scores, the Frenszo Chat service that enables registered subscribers to find and make friends on the network; Prepaid and Postpaid Blackberry, Mobile Internet, massive coverage across Nigeria and roaming in several countries across the world.
The 0815 series becomes the fourth number series rolled out by Globacom that has established a reputation as one of the fastest growing networks in Africa and the Middle East. Glo Mobile rolled out in August 2003 with the 0805 number series. This was then followed by the 0807 and 0705 MSIDN series.
Jameel added that the 0815 series is already available in dealers’ shops and in Gloworld outlets around the country.
