Heineken Pledges to Deliver Stellar Match Viewing Experiences As Knockout Matches Return

Heineken® is set to host football fans to special match viewing experiences at the Heineken House on March 10 and 11. This comes hot on the heels of last week’s matches between Manchester City & Real Madrid, Chelsea & Bayern, Lyon & Juventus, as well as Barcelona & Napoli, all of which were shown to football fans at the prestigious Heineken House in Ikoyi.

Following up from last year’s hugely successful Unmissable campaign, this year’s theme, “Better Together” is aimed at fostering conviviality and togetherness amongst football lovers, as Heineken® continues to connect with fans through the UEFA Champions League.

Speaking ahead of the matchday at the Heineken House, Sarah Agha, portfolio manager, International Premium Lager, Nigerian Breweries, discussed the plans for the knock-out matches of the competition saying,

“Very few events bring togetherness like football, and when it comes to football, it doesn’t get any better than the Champions League.

“We recognise this and this year, we want to give fans unique match viewing experiences at the Heineken® House while also dialing up the impeccable pedigree of European football’s finest.

“We have a ton of exciting activities lined up this year, and we are excited to give fans a UCL experience like never before.”

Last year, Heineken® delivered a stunning campaign which featured a Champions League trophy tour, accompanied by the football Legend – Carles Puyol. The Unmissable campaign also featured a novelty match in which the veteran Barcelona defender squared off against Jay-Jay Okocha.

Heineken®’s long history with the Champions League spans over two decades as both UEFA and the premium lager brand have often collaborated to deliver stellar campaigns themed around the sporting spectacle.

The Champions League returns next week as the competing teams will slug it out in the second leg ties of the knockout round. All matches will be shown at the Heineken House, Ikoyi.
