Lagos Records and Archives Bureau Launches New Website
Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau (LASRAB) on Tuesday unveiled its new website as part of efforts to provide better services to the government and the general public.
Speaking to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek on the sidelines of the project launch, Dr Bolaji Uthman, director general of the Bureau, said that LASRAB is a public institution that provides specalised and unique services and deserves it own website to reach out to the target audience.
“We have the consent of the Government to develop the website; so it is ours but linked to the parent website of the Lagos State Government. It gives us the opportunity to manage the content from this end and project the rich cultures of Lagos State from our perspective, the authentic history and developmental milestones of the State,” the DG explained.
He said that the Bureau’s position is critical to the State even in the information age, adding that the platform shall be explored to reach out to the people.
On the content of the website, he listed to include filings about the history of the State, events, information on the major historical sites and monuments, activities, collections and interfaces with other institutions.
He added that the site is also one of the channels through which the public can reach the Bureau in terms of feedback and utilize the activities of LASRAB for the purpose of human development.
