NITDA Deepens ICT Penetration in UNIMAD

Professor Ibrahim Njodi, Vice Chancellor, University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), recently led Principal Officers of the institution to a scheduled working visit to NITDA’s Corporate Head Office in Abuja.

 

The visit was to officially appreciate the Agency for donating ICT facilities and equipments to the institution which in the words of the VC “is aiding teaching, learning and research in the institution.”

 

The VC further revealed that most of the institution’s computer systems are presently obsolete and barely meet the user’s demand; he also solicited for NITDA’s help to come to the aid of the school.

 

Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency, (NITDA), in his remarks, assured them of the Agency’s commitment in fulfilling the request of the institution subject to the availability of funds.

 

Pantami added that the University of Maiduguri, being the first university in the North East is of strategic importance to that region and sympathised with the delegation over the incessant terrorist attacks rocking the zone.

The DG also urged the institution to comply with the law, by seek clearance from the Agency before embarking on any IT project.
