Mr Peter Jack, director general, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) said the Agency is in a renewed effort to collaborate with the Computer Professional (Registration Council) of Nigeria (CPN) and key stakeholders to boast the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the country.
According to Jack, there is a need for all the stakeholders to come together and develop a curriculum that will guide the activities of the partnership.
He advised that, ICT is a catalyst in the production sectors like plants and pipeline, oil and gas and the maritime industries which stakeholders must tap into.
The NITDA boss further stated that NITDA will work towards provision of funding for CPN in the next budget for research.
Jack said that NITDA will partner with them to complete the ongoing building and one of the floors in the CPN building in Abuja will be used as a capacity development centre.
In his remark, Professor Vincent Agor, CPN chairman of Council, commended NITDA over its recent achievements and how it is representing the whole ICT body.
Prof. Asor said that NITDA has step up activities and have become a household name in the ICT sector.
He also thanked NITDA for the role it played in the just concluded Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) Conference in Akure and said they are proud of the partnership existing between NITDA and major ICT stakeholders in the country.
The CPN Chairman of Council added that NITDA can use the third floor in the CPN building for its programmes when completed.
