Following the recent approved appointments into the boards of ministerial departments and agencies (DAs), including the Ministry of Communication, by President, Muhammadu Buhari recently, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) now has a new chairman in the person of Prof. Adeolu Akande-Chairman.
Other members of the NITDA Board are Hon Kazeem Salako, Dr. Lawal Bello Moriki, Hajia Binta Mohammed, Mr. Uche Onwude, Rt. Hon. Abdullai Bello and Senator J.J. Akpanunudoedehe.
NITDA’s mandate is to implement the National Information Technology Policy. The mandate is to create a framework for the planning, research, development, standardization, application, coordination, monitoring, evaluation and regulation of Information Technology practices in Nigeria.
Similarly, the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) new board is chaired by Barrister Maimuna Yahaya Abubakar, who will work alongside other members- Tunde Agbabiaka, Mainasara A. Sani.
Also, the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) has Chief George Moghalu-as the Board Chairman, while Zainab Ibrahim Jabo, and Comdr. Chidi Okonji are to serve on same board.
NITDA, NIPOST and NigComSat are agencies under the Ministry of Communications.
