International Data Corporation (IDC) has published its 2014 MarketScape report profiling and positioning the leading providers in the worldwide business analytics IT consulting and systems integration (C&SI) services market.

The analysis reveals that the enterprise need for solutions and the introduction of new technologies have created a huge demand for skill sets associated with business analytics services.

IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Business Analytics Consulting and Systems Integration Services 2014 Vendor Assessment evaluates the offerings and prospects of 12 vendors’ relative capabilities.

These providers were evaluated using detailed criteria that IDC identified as key factors contributing to vendor success in the worldwide business analytics CS&I services market.

The IDC MarketScape analysis utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology to produce a definitive assessment of each vendor’s current market capabilities and strategies for competing in the future.

The vendors included in the analysis are Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, CSC, Deloitte, EY, HCL, IBM, PwC, TATA Consultancy Services (TCS), and Wipro.

The IDC MarketScape methodology named Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte, IBM, and PwC as Leaders.

“The growing need for business analytics solutions and the advent of new technologies have created a huge demand for various skills sets associated with business analytics services. The surplus in demand is putting tremendous pressure on consulting and implementation services providers to attain, train, and retain top talent for their business analytics practices. Vendors that have created talent management strategies to successfully handle the skill shortage issues will be in the driver’s seat to handle client demands in the future,” said Ali Zaidi, senior analyst, IT Consulting and Systems Integration Business Strategies at IDC.

IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of IT, telecommunications, or industry-specific suppliers in a given market.

The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market.

IDC MarketScape provides a clear framework in which the product and service offerings, capabilities and strategies, and current and future market success factors of IT, telecommunications, or industry-specific vendors can be meaningfully compared.

The framework also provides technology buyers with a transparent foundation to allow companies to independently compare the strengths and weaknesses of current and prospective vendors.
