Starcomms Supports PRCAN

Starcomms Plc has once again demonstrated its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through the sponsorship of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) Business Luncheon.

The company, which recently empowered filthy people in Edo State through the Palace and high chiefs of the Benin Kingdom, said the support for PRCAN is a demonstration of its commitment to supporting any initiative that promotes a good business environment and positive reputation for Nigeria.

PRCAN, a body of reputation management companies, fits perfectly into such bodies that require corporate institutional support to enable Nigeria recover from the current image challenge.

The event, which took place last Wednesday, at the Golden Gate Restaurant, Ikoyi, Lagos, witnessed an unprecedented participation of senior company executives from various sectors of the economy, as well as a good representation from government and traditional institutions, including the HRH Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Obi of Onitsha who was the guest of honour.

In his opening address, Mr. Nna’Emeka Maduegbunna, PRCAN president, commended Starcomms for supporting the association which he described as a reflection of that the company understands and appreciation of the PR profession

The topic of the luncheon: "Doing Business in Nigeria: The Public Relations Perspective", was delivered by the guest speaker, Mr Keith Richards, CEO, Promasidor Nigeria Limited, who took the audience through an insightful journey on the role and place of public relations in strategic business management.

Richards brought to the luncheon his vast experience in strategic business management garnered over a 20-year period of professional service in various sectors of the Nigerian economy. These included companies such as John Holt Plc and International Equitable Industries Limited, Aba. He was also the CEO of Guinness Nigeria Plc before moving to Promasidor Nigeria where he now directs affairs.

He, expectedly, unveiled the path to success deploying his deep knowledge of corporate management complimented with solid grounding and practical exposure in marketing, and the use of public relations in brand building

The PRCAN Business Luncheon was an avenue through which stakeholders in the industry discuss core issues in strategic business management, particularly how it affects the practice of PR and the reputation of Nigeria as country.

At the event, the induction of new member-firms and presentation of certificates were performed.
