Technology Distributions Limited, leading ICT Distributor in sub Saharan Africa, has added Mercury products to the basket of international ICT brands on its stable.
Speaking at the unveiling of the new partnership in Lagos, Mrs. Chioma Chimere, executive director Marketing, TD, said that it would be natural to expect that the resources of TD and Mercury in terms of experience, technology, distributive channel, and finance would resolve most of the challenges arising from Power in the West African sub region.
The event drew acclaimed resellers from the Lagos/West market and the TD has promised a new era in power solutions.
Chimere said the addition of Mercury to the TD family, will provide resellers with a wide range of power products, computers and lifestyle products to meet the needs of the market – including power products (UPS, AVR, Inverters, surge protector etc), computer parts (main board, casing, networking products etc), accessories (speaker, PC camera, Media disc etc), computer system (tablet, PC System, notebook), consumer products (LCD TV), mobiles and memory products.
The TD/Mercury partnership would bring immense benefits to the West African ICT market because of the opportunity to confront and domesticate trusted Indian technology.
She described the partnership as a typical South South collaboration in which the processes and infrastructure of TD would deliver the ingenuity of the Mercury technology for the benefit of the people.
The legendary large stocking capacity of TD, shared logistics, affordable pricing and after sales support are some of the processes that TD would bring into the relationship to the benefit of the resellers.
Speaking at the launch, Shahnawaz Khan, country head of Kobian Computers, explained that Mercury is a brand from Kobian Computers and expressed satisfaction at the partnership.
He said that Kobian computers maintains service centers wherever they are operating not only for the purpose of supporting sold products but also as a means of building technical capacities among the local communities.
Khan said that the Mercury products are backed by a strong warranty that is delivered by these service centers.
Recounting the benefits of the partnership, Khan said, that the existing TD Resellers would acquire more technical experience as their businesses get bigger and more profitable.
New resellers would spring up just as a new crop of competent Mercury engineers (in UPS, Inverters, cameras, printers, scanners, computers etc) would become a new feature of the market. In addition, Mr. Khan said that the pricing of Mercury products is very competitive as they are produced for the mass and not the class market.
