Customers of leading telecommunications services provider, Airtel Nigeria, have started reaping the rewards of Airtel Red Hot promo as five lucky Nigerians have emerged winners of N1 million (one million naira) in the first set of draws held for the promo.

The draws, which also produced five winners of iPad Air, 500 winners of N10,000 each and 25,000 winners of free airtime, was conducted at the Corporate Headquarters of Airtel Nigeria in Lagos and supervised by leading system processes and applications audit firm, TCQ&A.

Kehinde Fasanya, a welder; Augustine Adugba, a pastor; Tijani Wasiu, a hotel manager and Omotosho Adeyanju, a retired banker were presented with their N1million cheques at a press event held in Lagos. The fifth winner, Adesoji Omoboriowo, a youth corper currently in Orientation camp in Abia State will receive his cheque at a location nearest to him.

The winners thanked Airtel and commended the operator for its unblemished history in fulfilling its promise to customers. They thanked Airtel for rewarding their patronage and loyalty.

Congratulating the winners, Chief Commercial Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Maurice Newa, noted that Airtel will continue to create credible platforms to enrich and empower its customers, noting that Red Hot promo is a platform for rewarding customers for their loyalty.

He said: “Airtel Red Hot promo is another unique way of showing appreciation to all Airtel customers in Nigeria. In addition to the innovative products and services which the network offers them, the Red Hot promo presents them with opportunities to enrich their lives and actualize their dreams.”

However, Newa advised customers to be on the alert for fraudsters who might use the promo as a ploy to defraud innocent citizens.

He reiterated that the company does not demand for financial security information such as bank account numbers, ATM pins or cash to redeem prizes and therefore urged Nigerians to be vigilant and confirm any such notification from Airtel’s customer care agent or the nearest Airtel Shop or office if in doubt.

“We do not need anything from our customers in return for their prizes. In fact, we use a special number – 08021900000 to contact customers and only the standard accepted mode of identification is required from winners to claim their winnings”, he explained.

The star prize for the promo is a brand new 2015 Range Rover and every customer that participates will have a chance of winning the star prize at the end of the promo. The promo will continue to produce one winner of one million naira daily and another 100 lucky customers will each win N10, 000 daily for the duration of the promo. In addition, Airtel is also offering smart phones to 50 lucky customers every week and free airtime to 5,000 customers.

To participate and qualify, customers need to recharge their lines or purchase any Airtel data, Blackberry, Android bundle, SMS or voice offer bundle offers Each of these activities carry specific number of entries into the raffle draw and the higher the number of entries earned, the higher the chances of winning.

The accumulated entry points for a customer can be carried over every day throughout the promo so that the chance of winning increases with every passing day.

The Airtel Red Hot Promo, which runs for 60 days, is open to all prepaid and post-paid customers.

It would be recalled that the first edition of Airtel Red Hot promo held last year, Danjuma Ibrahim Yakubu, 40, a National Assembly correspondent with Radio Nigeria Precious FM, in Lafia, Nassarawa State, emerged winner of the N10m star prize.
