E-PPAN: Big Data, Blockchain & Digital Finance Top Agenda Summit 2017

The Electronic Payment Providers Association of Nigeria (E-PPAN) is set to host over 300 delegates on July 18-19 at the iconic  Sheu Musa Yar’ Adua Centre, FCT, Abuja with the theme “E-Government: Catalyst to Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development”.

The two-day event will commence with a breakfast session by Parkway Projects while the main event will be declared open by the Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu with a welcome address by Senator Ayo Arise, Chairman of LOC Planning Committee.

The keynote speech will be given by Accountant General of the Federation, Alh. Ahmed Idris on Tuesday, 18th, 2017.

According to Mrs. Onajite Rega, CEO/Executive Secretary, E-PPAN, the 2017 Summit will offer a platform for policy-makers, strategist, and though leaders’ from the public-private sector dialogue and set programmable agenda for sustainable economic development in Nigeria.

"The objectives for this year include leveraging on ICT for enhanced data management for effective service delivery; to showcase the effective use of data analytics and ICT to increase government revenue and to drive SMART technology for excellent government services," she said.

The Summit theme will do justice to topics like Mobile Big Data Analytics- Opportunity for New Statistical Insights and Indicators for National Development; Ease of doing business- Digitizing Business to Government (B2G) Processes; Beyond Bitcoin: Enabling Smart Government Using Blockchain Technology; Mobile Big Data Analytics-Setting the Roadmap for Data Opportunity; Engineering Government Processes for Public Service Efficiency and Economic Development; Exploring the Frontiers of Digital Finance; amongst others.

The E-Government Summit is an initiative of E-PPAN. This years’ E-government summit is in partnership with Central Bank of Nigeria, NITDA (National Information Technology Development Agency) and Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Scheme (NIBSS), VISA and Keoun.

A Local Organizing Committee of the Summit was made up of representatives from CBN, NITDA, NIBSS, Interswitch, Unified Payments, Etranzact, VoguePay, Simplepay, and E-PPAN.
