President Approves Literacy via Radio for Country

President Umaru Musa Yar’adua has approved the extension of the Literacy by Radio project of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education (Nmec), to all the states across the federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
The president who announced the approval in Owerri, last week said the significant success recorded in implementing the project in the initial 12 pilot states informed the need to bring the initiative to other states.

All the seven remaining students of the ongoing MTN Project Fame West African academy were placed on probation on Sunday 16th of November, as the musical contest took a new dimension in determining who goes up next for eviction.
The seven contestants were all hot and smoking at the previous show when they put up an all round gleaming performances, making the decision of who goes on probation, a hard nut for the judges to crack.

A new kid on the block, Endeavour Nigeria Reality TV show is set to grace the screen and promises wads of cash and innovations in the reality TV space.
The organizers have boasted that the programme will titillate viewers’ appetite come the New Year, when it shall officially flag off on primetime television and run for 30 days.
Nigerians who are between the age of 20 and 35 are eligible for entry. The application forms will be available soon, in selected banks nationwide and cost N2,500.

Just three months after its formal debut on the Nigerian scene, the Cosmos brand of desktop computers from Coscharis Technologies Limited, has passed the Windows Vista Logo Test conducted by the Microsoft Corporation under its Windows Hardware Quality Laboratory (WHQL) certification programme.
In this way, Cosmos has joined the league of computer brands that have been certified to be compatible with Windows Vista Operating System, and is also among the few Nigerian brands that have passed the test under the latest operating system from Microsoft.

MultiChoice Nigeria last week, commissioned ten additional educational resource centres in Ogun State, bringing to 91 its total number of educational resource centres across Nigeria.
The MultiChoice Resource Centre project is a CSR initiative of the company in which it provides secondary schools with DStv decoders, television sets, stabilizers, video recorders, generators, chairs and tables, a bouquet of six educational channels among others; with a view to enhancing the quality of education through information and communication technologies (ICTs).

Nigerian WebRadio® (www.nigerianwebradio.com), US-based Nigerian internet radio station, said that it has been honoured with the 2009 Black Web Awards.
The awards were given in two categories. Nigerian WebRadio was selected as the “Best Internet Radio Station” and the “Best African Music Site”, out of 5,000 original nominations and nearly 650,000 votes from 130 countries.
The Black Web Awards recognizes original, positive websites with content from the Black perspective.

DStv Covers the U.S Presidential Elections
