Globacom fulfilled promises to its subscribers as it presented a cheque of N10milllion to Rev. Alex Iduh of the Church of God Mission, Benin, who emerged winner of the second monthly draw in the on-going Glo ‘text 4 millions” super promo.
The telecom giant gave out seven other cheques of N1million each to its subscribers who won in the promo which has so far produced over 65 millionaires at its weekly Laffta Fest show organized by the company to reward its loyal subscribers.
The Mediterranean Hall of Da Civic Centre, Benin and the next hall in the complex erupted in jubilation as relations, friends and members of the Church Of God Mission, Benin, trooped to the stage to felicitate with Rev. Iduh.
Among the dignitaries in attendance, were Hon. John Inegbebor, the Edo State Commissioner for Finance, and Barr. Vincent Oseyangbonaye, Commissioner for Arts and Culture, they showered praises on Globacom for putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians, especially at this time of global economic meltdown.
Other winners in the ‘text 4 Millions’ promo included artisans, traders and civil servants, said that they had kept unflinching faith with the promo since it started over two months ago by persistently playing, even when they did not win initially in the daily, weekly and monthly draws because of their abiding conviction that the promo is real.
Rev. Iduh, winner of the N10million second monthly draw, noted that he had just secured 140 points at the cost of about N14,000 when he was notified that he won the draw. Elated beyond his wildest dreams, Rev. Iduh appealed to Nigerians to hook on to the Glo network because of the numerous benefits and goodies the company has for Nigerians.
“I was very happy when I was told that I won the monthly draw. This is the Lord’s doing and it shows that Globacom is real and sincere in its dealings with the people of this country”, Rev. Iduh said.
Speaking while presenting a cheque of N1million to Olatunde Solomon one of the winners, Dr. Benka Coker, of St. Bridget Clinic, Benin , a secondary school classmate of Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr, the Chairman of Globacom, said that he felt very proud that a classmate of his was touching lives in a very positive way.
“I feel very proud of Globacom and feel very much proud of my classmate, Dr. Mike Adenuga, who is the owner of Globacom. I wish we can have many Nigerians like Adenuga because as I present this cheque of N1 million to this winner today, I can imagine the countless of other Nigerians whose lives have been positively touched by Dr. Adenuga”, Coker said.
Other new millionaires that got their cheques at the show were Haji Bilkisu Hamsat, Omobola Ishie, who won for the fifth time in the promo at the weekly draw, having secured the highest point for the week, Akintayo Ebenezer Akinbisola, Pastor Joseph Ifaniyi, a mechanic and Klement Ugege.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Brodericks Emason Sebastian (MON), the award winning coach of the Under 17 national team which won the 1995 World Cup, John Mayaki, the senior special assistant to Governor Adams Oshiomole on Media, Orobosa Omo-Ojo, special adviser to the Governor on Arts and Culture, Prince Patrick Oronsaye, Culture Resource Consultant to the Foundation for the Protection of Benin Heritage and Culture, Glo Ambassadors, Nonso Diobi and Uche Jumbo, Louis Odion, the Managing Director of National Life and a host of other personalities.
Anchored by ace comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka who kept telling the crowd to text ‘Win’ to 555 to enable them join the Glo Millionaires’ Club, the Benin show also featured top of the range comedians and musicians like Maleke, I Go Dye, Gandoki, Basket Mouth, DJ Zeez, Face and 9ice. Hot jibes hit the audience from the dexterity of DJ Jimmy Jatt.
The giant telecommunication company, also at the event, gave out a brand new Mercedes Benz S320 to a National Youth Service Corps member, Mr. Akinsanya Temitope, who had earlier emerged in the draws of the Glo “Win N’ Rule” promo. Others were Miss Joy Nwabu Ozomah, who won a Peugeot 307 XT, Mrs Olugbohungbe Folashade, Mrs Anota Olayinka Balogun, Alfa Abiola Bashiru and Mr. Ugbah Joseph, who all received a Nissan Sunny car each and Mr. Nicholas Akabueze and Opene Obiora, who got a brand new Kia Rio car each.
