Abuja, Jos Winners Receive Brand New Cars, Other Items in Glo Joy Unlimited Promo

The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Thursday played host to Joy Unlimited Extravaganza Promo, a customer appreciation programme of telecommunications giant, Globacom.

The two Kia Rio cars will make a total of five cars won so far in the exciting promo which has also given hundreds of household appliances including refrigerators, power generators and television sets to winners across the country.
In the FCT, 106 home appliances were presented to winners comprising 37 power generators, 32 refrigerators and 37 television sets. Likewise in Jos, Plateau State, 13 generator winners went home with their prizes, while eleven and thirteen won refrigerators and television sets respectively, making a total of 38 lucky winners.
Peter Ekeifo, 35-year-old a Lifestyle Manager from Delta State, was the proud winner of the Kia Rio in Abuja while Mohammed Bashie Amsami, a Borno-born trader won the car in Jos.
The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa, Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago, and Globacom’s Regional Manager, Abuja, Mr. Kazeem Kaka were on hand to jointly present the car to the Abuja winner just as the Sector Commander of Special Task Force in Jos, Col MD Abdusalam, and the Plateau State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon Victor Lapang, were joined by other important personalities from the state to present the brand new Kia Rio car to Amsami.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Ekeifo, said he was dumfounded when he received a call from a Glo Customer Care staff informing him about the car prize. Said he, the car is “a gift from God delivered through Glo.
“Globacom has made me happy. I will use the car personally, and it will help me greatly in my artist lifestyle management job. It is another level now. To God be the glory, God bless Globacom”.
The story was not too different for Amsami who was full of gratitude to the company for the surprise gift. “I was so excited when I got the call that I had won. I and my two wives will enjoy this gift. Everyone in the country really needs to get on the Globacom network because this is where it is happening. Glo has made my dream come true”, he said.
Abuja Glo boss, Kaka explained that, “Hundreds of Glo subscribers have received their prizes at prize-presentation events held in Lagos, Enugu, Ibadan and Port Harcourt where the first car winner Obinna Adiele, a civil engineer, drove home his brand new Kia Rio last Thursday.
Also two days ago, we presented prizes to the second set of winners in Lagos where the second car was won by Afeez Oseni, a Lagos-based clearing agent, while Osaze Osemwegie, a welder in Benin City, picked up the third car at the prize presentation ceremony held in the Edo State capital on Tuesday”.
In the same vein, Jideofor Agudosi, Globacom Regional Sales Manager Jos, disclosed that “The Glo Joy Unlimited Extravaganza promo was launched in furtherance of our commitment to giving more value to our subscribers as they use their Glo lines”.
Mr. Obi Iregbu, the Director, Licensing and Operations, National Lottery Regulatory Commission, felicitated with the fortunate subscribers while giving kudos to Globacom for initiating the loyalty reward promo for the benefit of its customers.
The Joy Unlimited Extravaganza train will move to other cities including Ibadan, Onitsha, Kaduna, Uyo, Ibadan, Warri, Ilorin before returning to Lagos where prizes will be presented to winners in these locations.

MTN Unveils YelloTide Campaign to Spark Joy and Unity This Holiday Season

After days of online conversations and speculation, MTN Nigeria has officially unveiled its much-anticipated Festive campaign, YelloTide, a nationwide celebration aimed at spreading joy, kindness, and connection across the country.

The campaign officially kicks off this week, following a three-day teaser that had Nigerians across social media guessing what MTN had up its sleeve. Now, the wait is over.
According to the brand, the initiative will unfold in three major phases designed to light up the festive season with colour, community engagements, and giving spirit.
Activities begin with Y’ello Santa, a three-day activation held from Thursday, November 13 to Saturday, November 15, 2025, in six key cities: Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Enugu, Kano, and Ibadan. Each stop will feature surprise appearances, and special giveaways, turning everyday spaces into pockets of celebration.
Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, said: “This season, we want to bring the smiles back. We want people to remember what it feels like to come together, celebrate each other, and share happiness. From city centres to small communities, we’re taking the celebration to where Nigerians are.”
The campaign will run through the festive period into early 2026, combining physical activations, digital engagement via the MTN portal – yellotide.mtn.ng, and heartfelt community moments.

Girls Slug it Out for N5m Prize in Glo Innov8 STEM Finale

The race is down to three as the Glo Innov8 National STEM Competition for Girls approaches its grand finale. The competition, organized by the Glo Foundation, Globacom’s corporate social responsibility arm, will take place at the Mike Adenuga Centre (Alliance Française), Ikoyi, Lagos.

From over 200 schools that entered nationwide, 20 were initially shortlisted, and 10 went on to compete for a place in the finals. The three schools that made it to the last stage are Ephraim High School, Isolo Campus, Lagos; Regina Pacis International School, Onitsha, Anambra State; and Peakfield Academy, Jos, Plateau State.
Hundreds of students across several states, including Plateau, Kano, Lagos, Rivers, Edo, Borno, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Ondo, Oyo, Anambra, FCT, Delta, Kaduna, and Adamawa submitted entries after the Glo Foundation’s nationwide call for participation.
The initiative, designed as a STEM-driven challenge, was launched to mark this year’s International Day of the Girl Child — celebrating creativity, innovation, and inclusion among young women in science and technology.
According to the Glo Foundation, “The competition is aimed at inspiring young girls to Compete, Innovate, and Win — while strengthening their confidence and expanding their knowledge in STEM subjects.”
The winning school will take home ₦2,000,000 cash prize, with each of its two student representatives receiving a brand-new laptop and the Teacher/Mentor/STEM Coordinator earning ₦200,000. Runners-up will also receive valuable consolation prizes.
The three judges of the virtual stage expressed delight at the quality of presentations from the top 20 schools. Tosin Olabode praised the participants’ creativity, saying, “I was particularly impressed by the prototype presentations — some schools clearly did their homework.”
Another judge, Amina Gabriel, highlighted the diversity of ideas, noting, “The schools presented innovative solutions addressing issues in agriculture, security, waste management, and firefighting. The prototypes ranged from apps to robots, making the competition truly engaging. I’m grateful to Glo Foundation for giving me the chance to support young girls in STEM.”
On her part, Sharon Ibejih added that “this competition has showcased a highly competitive next generation of women leaders in STEM. It’s a brilliant platform to nurture problem-solving and innovative thinking among students.”
As the final stage approaches, anticipation is high for what promises to be a memorable showcase of brilliant young Nigerian girls and a testament to Globacom’s commitment to empowering the next generation of innovators.
