Mrs. Loretta Agbakoba, head, Computerize Nigeria Project has congratulated the Nigerian Book Fair Trust on the occasion of the 9th Nigeria International Book Fair which started on Monday 10th May, 2010, at the University of Lagos. In a message to Bose Adetunji, executive secretary of the Nigerian Book Fair Trust, the Computerize Nigeria Project extolled the ability of the Nigeria Book Fair Trust to keep the book and reading culture in Nigeria alive.
She said that it was a pure measure of the NBFT’s resilience that the book fair still attracts a large following in spite of the many years of neglect that the book industry has suffered in the hands of the governments and people of Nigeria.
Mrs. Agbakoba added that with a vision to bring books closer to people for better education and self empowerment it was imperative that the NBFT and the Computerize Nigeria Project have found convergence and possible collaboration in the Zinox e-learning suite, the most comprehensive e-knowledge product in Nigeria.

In a related development, Mr. Walter Kny, director of the World e- books library, has expressed delight that the number of visits to the Zinox e-learning suite jumped up by 30% in the month of March, 2010 to reach all time highs since its October’s launch. Mr. Kny said that the Zinox e-learning “unique visitors” view twice more pages than the “unique visitors” of the National Library of Great Britain! The average “unique visitor” of National Library of UK views 18 pages per year approximately. The average unique visitor of Zinox e-learning views 40 pages in 6 months. The World e-Books library Boss explained that the significance of this frequency is that the Zinox e-learning solution is engaging enough to motivate users to keep coming back to learn. In addition, he finds it very promising on account of the numerous internet access issues in Nigeria. Walter Kny said that considering the fact that the e-learning solution is new in Nigeria, this frequency also underscores the depth of the willingness of the people to acquire new knowledge. He said that any country with such an affinity was definitely bound for great things.
