Globacom, has given out N27.5 billion naira worth of bonus airtime to its customers in the last two months in its ongoing Glo Overload Reloaded promo.

The Glo Overload promo was introduced late last year among a number of other mega promotions aimed at exciting and delighting the operator’s customers.

The promo was in January re-launched as Glo Overload Reloaded with expanded bonus of 400 percent bonus airtime for every recharge of N200 and above, up from the 200 percent bonus airtime initially given to customers for every recharge of N200 and above.

Over seven million subscribers had signed up to the promotion by February and had taken advantage of the promo’s multi-faceted benefits, including free airtime. The company’s records indicated that a total of N27,523,577,800 bonus airtime has been given out to customers so far.

Under the Glo Overload Reloaded promo, a subscriber who recharges with N200 receives a total value of N1000 automatically, which is 5 times the value of recharge.

Any airtime recharge of N500 gives the subscriber N2,500 airtime value; N1000 gives N5000; N2000 gives N10,000; while N5000 gives a whopping N25,000 value.

The customer’s main credit can be used to call any network at any time of the day, while the bonus airtime can be used for Glo to Glo calls and SMS between 10pm and 8am, depending on the validity period of the recharge denomination, ranging from two to fifteen days.

The bonus is also extended to the operator’s data subscribers. For instance, a subscriber who spends N2,500 on data plan subscription or renewal automatically gets 4.5GB worth of data, N5000 gives the subscriber 12GB of data, and N8000 gives a whopping 24GB.

Additionally, subscribers on the Glo Overload Reloaded Promo platform will have a chance to become one of the 120 millionaires that the promo will produce. In addition to the 40 millionaires who have already emerged and been given their N1m cheques each, a total of 80 more winners will emerge in the weeks ahead.

A Globacom subscriber, Francis Oshin, said the Glo Overload Reloaded promo was the best thing to happen to the telecom sector in the country in recent time. According to him, the 400 percent instant bonus for recharges of N200 and above is very useful, especially for people who make lots of calls.

He said another attraction of the promo is the opportunity given to subscribers to become millionaires by simply signing up and loading their phones.

He said he had benefited from this for doing nothing other than simply loading his phone. He called on other subscribers to take advantage of the promo.

Mercy Oikelomen, a 400 level student of Economics, Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, said, “Globacom has demonstrated that it cares about the people and is always ready to give back to the society. With this Overload promo, Glo has touched the lives of many Nigerians and I am proud to be a subscriber of the company.”

Haruna Abubakar, a Kano-based lawyer said the promo is great, especially because of the data bonus. He added that the promo has been of tremendous help to him lately as it enabled him to send heavy attachments to his clients. According to him, without the bonus, he would have definitely exceeded his monthly budget for data service.

An Nnewi spare parts dealer, Obinna Nwafor commended Globacom for this wonderful promo.  His words: “I joined Globacom network recently because of the service and it is always giving good money to its customers.  I am recharging very heavily so that one day I will be one of the people that will win millions in the promo.”

Another subscriber, Ngozi Nnadi, a staff of one of the popular eateries in Port Harcourt said that “Glo is a good supporter of Nigerian people, sports and entertainment.  Many people have been winning in the Overload promo, and I am praying very hard to be one of them.”

Another subscriber, Rukayat Tijani, a fish seller said in Yoruba language that the instant bonus is ‘simply fantastic.’ She also commended Globacom for giving subscribers opportunity to win prizes and become millionaires.

Ashok Israni, company’s Regional chief marketing officer, told newsmen at the launch of the promo that over N30 million naira worth of gifts will be given out as embellishment prizes in the course of the promotion. According to him, these include modems, Nokia Lumia Smartphones, LED TV, HP Dual core Laptops, iPad Air and iPhone 6 devices.

He explained that customers can avail themselves of the benefits of the promo by dialing *200# on their phones just once to start enjoying Overload bonus on subsequent recharges.

Konga, Nigeria’s leading composite e-commerce group, has continued to record remarkable feedback from shoppers as its ongoing Category Month Campaign builds momentum. Since its kick-off in early September, the initiative has spotlighted key product categories each week, delivering unbeatable deals and heightened excitement across Nigeria’s digital retail space.

The campaign debuted with Home and Kitchen products in the first week of launch, offering households the chance to upgrade essentials at discounted prices.

This was followed by Electronics Week, which drew an overwhelming response from tech-savvy shoppers eager to secure top-quality gadgets at market-leading prices.

This week, attention has shifted to Beauty, Health and Personal Care, as well as Fashion, promising even more compelling offers for style enthusiasts and wellness-focused consumers.

According to industry observers, shoppers have embraced the campaign for clear reasons: convenience, affordability, and trust. By focusing on one category per week, Konga ensures a curated shopping experience where customers enjoy depth, variety, and verified quality across product lines. Strategic partnerships with global brands further guarantee authenticity, while Konga’s reliable logistics network continues to deliver purchases swiftly and securely.

In addition, Konga’s Category Month is strategically driving value for both buyers and sellers. For shoppers, it translates into savings and access to exclusive bundles. For merchants, it unlocks visibility to wider audiences and boosts sales volumes in a competitive marketplace.

Beyond the campaign, Konga has also reinforced its reputation as a socially responsible brand through the Computerise Nigeria Initiative, launched recently in partnership with Zinox and KongaCares.

The initiative aims to put one million laptops into the hands of young Nigerian students, bridging the digital divide and equipping the next generation for a knowledge-driven economy.

Konga is calling on well-meaning Nigerians, NGOs, religious institutions, and corporate bodies to support this noble effort, which has the potential to transform education and empower millions of youths across the country.

With Category Month and social impact initiatives like Computerise Nigeria, Konga is not only redefining retail in Nigeria but also cementing its role as a catalyst for digital inclusion and economic growth.
