It leaves nothing to wish for even during demanding applications such as competitive first-person shooting games.

Equipped with a state-of-the-art LED-backlit TN panel, the myUltraSpeed (the model is also listed as g2460Pqu) delivers crisp images without compromises.

Its 144 Hz refresh ratemore than doubles the frames per second rate of conventional LCDs.

The ultra-short pixel response time of one millisecond only also stands for blur-free images. The Full HD model displays signals via a full set of connectors (VGA, dual link DVI, HDCP-compatible HDMI as well as a Display Port).

For a new level of user-friendliness, AOC decks out the myUltraSpeed with an integrated USB hub with 4 connectors, including a fast-charge USB port for mobile devices, a headphone output and speakers.

In addition, the monitor is ergonomically fully flexible, offering height adjustment, tilt, swivel and pivot (portrait mode) function.

Take away desktop real estate
The myConnectconcept has already led to a USB-powered monitor before. Now, AOC has come up with an extremely versatile monitor targeted at users of netbooks, notebooks or other portable computers. Thanks to the Display Link technology utilised, a single USB 3.0 cable connects the ultra-slim (0.09″ / 22.9 mm) WXGA model with a notebook, for instance, providing mobile users with a dual monitor set-up in an instant.

The Style Line monitor is not only supplied with video signals viathe USB cable, but also with power. This is made possible by the display’s extremely low power consumptionof less than 7 Watts. The myConnect (model name e1659Fwu) thus instantly increases the desktop space by its screen diagonal of 15.6” (39.6 cm). For even more convenience, the monitor stand can be rotated, so the monitor easily rotates from landscape to portrait orientation (pivot) – useful for desk presentations, document viewing, texts or mail clients.

With the Smart Auto Pivot function, the content displayed will automatically be rotated as well. The myConnect comes with intelligent software that eases the control of brightness, contrast and power settings.

Thanks to the USB connectivity, it is possible to hook up no less than six USB displays – allowing for an unprecedented level of multi-tasking for notebook users.

For ease of transport and for safe keeping of this ultra-portable lightweight display, a soft sleeve is included in the delivery.

NBTI Advocates for Legislation to Strengthen Local Content

Published

National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) has urged the National Assembly to enact Executive Orders 003 and 005 into law to ensure full compliance by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

NBTI Advocates for Legislation to Strengthen Local Content

Executive Order 003, signed by former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, mandates MDAs to prioritise local manufacturers and service providers in procurement.

Similarly, Executive Order 005, issued by former President Muhammadu Buhari, directs MDAs to promote science, technology, and innovation in achieving national development goals.

Speaking on the necessity of these Orders, Dr Kazeem Raji, director-general, NBTI emphasised the need for legal backing to enhance enforcement and compliance.

He noted that while Executive Orders remain in effect until revoked or ruled unlawful, transforming them into legislation would strengthen their implementation and enforcement.

Raji stressed that enacting these Orders as laws would drive the adoption of indigenous technology, increase patronage of local innovations, and enhance economic growth.

“If Executive Orders 003 and 005 become laws, capital flight will reduce, foreign reserves will increase, GDP will grow, and employment opportunities will expand. These Orders will no longer be ignored, as there will be legal consequences for non-compliance,” he stated.

He emphasised that institutionalising these policies through legislation would solidify the government’s commitment to boosting local production and supporting homegrown industries.
