Glo Rewards Future Literary Stars with 3G Modems

Globacom recently gave out its Hi-speed 3G internet modems to lucky participants at the maiden edition of BookJam held at the Lifestyle Store, Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Choox Kema, a film director, and Titus Igwe, a Business Administration student of University of Lagos, were presented with the modems after they emerged winners of a draw held for those who attended the event.
BookJam is a monthly series of literary events centred around book readings and discussions spiced up with musical performances. It is meant to provide literary entertainment for the public, create opportunities for book lovers to meet and discuss with writers and artists in order to support the local literary community.
Guest writers who read from their works were Kaine Agary, author of Yellow Yellow and winner of the 2008 NLNG-sponsored Nigeria Prize for Literature; Eghosa Imasuen, author of To Saint Patrick; Jude Dibia, author of Walking with Shadows and Unbridled and winner of the 2007 NDDC/ANA-sponsored Ken Saro-Wiwa Prize for Prose, and author of It’s our Turn to Eat, Michela Wrong.
Presenting the Glo internet modems to the winners of the draw, Bankole Ojutalayo of Value Added Services Department of Globacom observed that the modems would offer the beneficiaries the fastest and most reliable access to the internet. “We are aware that, as writers, they will be doing a lot of research work  and most of these researches are done on the internet these days. The Glo 3G internet modem will make their work easier and more convenient,” Ojutalayo noted.
The Glo prepaid 3G Plus High Speed internet modem, launched last, year offers users faster connectivity and faster downloads at affordable rates. “The modem comes in three packages designed for the convenience of subscribers. The highly flexible usage options include the All day Packs, Bundled Hour Packs and Flexi packs,” explained Ojutalayo.
Giving details of the packages, Sales Manager of 3G Plus, Olawunmi Jewesimi, said the All Day pack has the Always MAX, Always Min and Always Day package types. For the Always MAX package, the user is required to pay N10,000 monthly fee and this gives him access to the internet all day for 30 days.
For the Always Min package, Jewesimi explained, the user pays N5,000 a month for all-day access to the internet for 30 days, while the monthly fee for Always Day pack is N500 for all day access for 24 hours.
The Bundled Hour Packs come in two categories: G300 which attracts N15,000 monthly fee for all day access for 300 hours and G100 which has a monthly fee of N6,000 with 100 hours, all day access.
Similarly, the Flexi pack is in two categories: the G Work package attracts N6,000 monthly charge with 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. access for 30 days and the G Leisure which has a monthly fee of N5,000 for 30 days’ access for 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. every day and all day during weekends.
To enjoy the prepaid 3G Plus services, a subscriber is required to simply text “activate” to 127 from the 3G Plus SIM. A promo Bonus of 50mb and N100 worth of Glo to Glo SMS comes with the first subscription to the service.The product is of great benefit to students, academics, professionals, Middle-level managers, researchers and corporate organizations, Jewesimi noted.
