LG Electronics Unveils 3rd Generation Nigerian TV
LG Electronics has launched the LG 21FK2 Nigerian TV at its major sales outlet on Victoria Island, Lagos.
The new LG 21FK2 Nigerian TV, which is also known as the third Generation Nigerian TV is the best innovation so far among flat screen TVs in Nigerian. It comes with the three major Nigerian languages – Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa, added to the other international languages on the On-Screen Display (OSD).
A stylish swivel stand has also been added to make it possible for users to be able to manipulate and adjust the screen position.
Consumers now have better choice in the new LG 21FK2 with the adjustable swivel stand because the elegant TV set can either be tilted up, down, right or left, depending on the angle that gives users the best view, the Company said in a statement.
The TV also comes in exotic high glossy black LCD looking design that gives it a shinny finish front view and the extra dynamic (XD) picture and sound for improved output.
Dave Shin, general manager, Home Entertainment division, LG Electronics West Africa Operations, while speaking at the formal launching of the third generation Nigerian TV, said, “Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa menu languages still remain a major feature on the newest model of the Nigerian TV. We have however gone a step ahead to improve on the look and capacity of the LG 21FK2 Nigerian TV.”
“The introduction of LG 21FK2 is an indication of our commitment to delivering freshness in our products to our Nigerian consumers. Everyday we wake up, we ought to be able to find new experience and excitement in life. For us, that’s what really makes Life good; new exciting experience. And so we have added more features to the Nigerian TV to create new exciting experience for our Nigerian consumers in the LG 21FK2 TV,” Shin added.
Mohammed Fouani, managing director, Fouani Nigeria Limited, a major distributor of LG products in the country, expressed confidence that Nigerians will find the features of the new model of the Nigerian TV exciting.
“Nigerian TV is a concept that is so close to LG’s heart because of the uniqueness of the Nigerian market. It is a concept that has provided for LG Electronics, the platform to really show its sentiments to the Nigerian consumer by bonding with them through the inclusion of the three major Nigerian languages on the menu list. You will agree with me that it is a special way of re-echoing that LG loves Nigeria,” he said.
The Home Entertainment category of LG Electronics boasts of core technologies for cutting-edge television products, which include plasma TVs, LCD TVs and ultra slim flat TVs. The digital TV with in-built DVR, dubbed “time machine” was one of the ground breaking products of LG Electronics.
The brand also possesses first rate technology for production of LCD monitors, projectors, as well as OLED modules, which are considered next generation display technologies.

NIMC rolls out Pre-Enrolment Portal for seamless NIN registration

National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has launched the NIMC Pre-Enrolment Portal to revolutionise the National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment process, enabling applicants within Nigeria and in the Diaspora to capture biodata online prior to biometric verification at enrolment centres.

Accessible via penrol.nimc.gov.ng, the platform allows users to fill enrolment forms, schedule appointments, upload supporting documents securely, and manage personal details directly, thereby slashing congestion, minimising wait times, boosting data accuracy and enhancing overall service efficiency at centres nationwide.
NIMC Director-General and CEO, Engr. (Dr) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, spearheaded the initiative as part of the Commission’s technology-driven strategy to fortify institutional performance, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda that emphasises digital transformation, efficient public service delivery and inclusive national development.
Dr Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications, highlighted key benefits including simplified biodata handling, confidential data protection through robust security measures, reduced physical centre visits and heightened operational effectiveness, urging all prospective enrollees to adopt the portal for a faster, citizen-friendly experience.[conversation_history]

MultiChoice Talent Factory Calls for Entries Into Fully Funded Film Training Programme

MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), a Pan-African film and television training institution, has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 intake.

The fully funded programme is open to African graduates aspiring to become directors, filmmakers, scriptwriters, producers and storytellers.
According to MultiChoice, the nine-month accredited curriculum combines online learning with intensive in-person training, and is designed to balance theoretical knowledge with practical immersion.
MTF academies are located in Kenya, Nigeria and Zambia, and serve aspiring filmmakers from 14 African countries. Since its inception in 2018, the initiative has trained 296 filmmakers, with graduates producing more than 42 movies aired on DStv, GOtv and Showmax platforms.
Organisers said alumni of the programme have gone on to establish over 50 production companies, while many continue to work within the MultiChoice ecosystem.
Graduates have also won accolades at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, Kalasha Awards, Uganda Film Festival and Women in Film Awards.
