Prosellers Technology Can Check Kidnapping with Technology– Ologunleko
Adeniyi Ologunleko is the managing director of Prosellers, West Africa, frontline information and communications technology solutions provider.
He started his career as a sales representative in-charge of West African Market with Procter and Gamble, one of the leading consumer product companies.
He developed interest in ICT during his six years stay at MTN, from where he established Prosellers West Africa.
Ologunleko spoke to Chris Alu in Abuja on innovative solution provided by his company and other issues.
Technology Solution to Check Kidnapping
The Tramigo technology is a geographical position system (GPS) device and what it does is that, if you install it in a vehicle or any moving object, you can know the precise location of that object at any point in time.
The major advantage of Tramigo solution device is that it will return to you the exact location of the object or moving vehicle. What we did was to add a device into the technology that makes it useful in addressing the social menace in our society, and we discover that kidnapping and vehicle theft are some of the menaces. So now, with Tramigo, when installed in your vehicle, there is a button that is hidden in the vehicle which if you are driving and faces a threat of kidnapping or threat to your safety, you can quickly press the button and once you press the button, it is already connected to some of the security agencies, GSM system and your family members will get short message service alert system immediately.
Even up to ten people can get an SMS knowing your exact location at that moment. The message will indicate that you are having some challenges or attack. With distressed SMS alert, the security agencies can find ways of tracing down the kidnappers through the information received on their GSM phone, by so doing they can intercept the vehicle and they can trace the attackers and rescue you.
We also provide solar solutions and equipments. The solar technology we provide can provide back up power to devices, because power failure is one disadvantage that can frustrate business effort, so we adopt solar into our technology as back up for the devices to work very well.
Research and Development for Economic Advancement
Well Nigeria just like some other African countries have economic challenges such as poverty. This affects the ability of most citizens of countries in Africa to think which affects research; also the government finds it difficult to provide the kind of money needed for research and development. In most cases, it is thinking that leads to research or discoveries. In this regards, our academicians are still struggling to come out of the circle of poverty while we don’t even have scientists that can invent or embark on research. Government which is supposed to provide infrastructure to enable economic advancement and research is not living up to expectation. The environmental challenges makes R & D in Nigeria difficult, for instance, ICT parks and equipment, we don’t have them, so it is really difficult for such advancement to take place.
Other countries are investing money into research through synergy, so we can also form a synergy with some of these countries to move ahead, at this point Nigeria don’t need money in form of loans from World Bank, but we need partnership for technological development, through that our engineers, and scientists will be able to acquire the relevant knowledge for economic advancement. That is where we can talk of an enabling environment for a reliable partnership like what China is doing. China is a developing country like Nigeria. What China has done is that they know that they don’t have money for research and development, but they created an environment that is conducive for the people who have that technology, and knowledge to come and set up factories in other to translate that innovation to products, and in the process of doing that, their people will be employed and ideas will be shared, that is how China broke out from some of the factories to start their local products which we consume here in Nigeria and now they are far ahead of us.
Government Driving the Application ICT
Honestly, government cannot do so much in driving the application of ICT in our national lives, I think you have two components to it, you have the public sector component and the private sector components, and the public sector components, government has a key role to play. The private sector component, is already rising up to the challenge in that area, so it is the public sector that is remaining because the private sectors effort is the one creating awareness to people. For instance, your newspaper is one of the key newspapers that educate people mostly on ICT development weekly. So, government has not done that and also government has a major role to play even in the legislation for ICT development in the country, which will help the private sector to intensify their effort in bringing ICT into our daily life.
Supporting Prosellers Services
Our collaboration with Tramigo is basically from the point of view of technology partnership.
Tramigo has been able to invent a world class technology as a matter of fact; Tramigo is the only GPS tracking technology in the world. It is the world best selling in over 200 countries and market leaders in the world in the tracking device solutions. We collaborate with Tramigo, basically on the GPS area which is very important to our service provisioning, because of the technology. They have continued to improve on it to enable us provide the local landmark data service that works with the satellite in addressing social challenges. They help us to provide the geographical mapping code, the GPS satellite will translate.
More so, the device is a stand alone device and what I mean by a stand alone device is that it is a device that does not need internet connectivity, and does not require some of the complication associated that is down or up services. On its own, it is a world class innovation, however locally here in Nigeria what we do is to provide the geographical map in consonance with our streets, areas and major buildings in Nigeria, all to assist the device to work effectively, though it is difficult to describe all the major buildings in Nigeria but we have to do it to help the device work well. This is because once the device in your vehicle sends a signal to the satellite in orbit, and it replies the device a coordinate, that is the geographical area, the latitude and longitude. So, our job is to enable the device by providing software to enable the device to translate that coordinate into a physical area or place like Wuse, Garki or Herbert Macaulay street etc. We also provide the software back up for easy identification. This is done in a matter of few seconds for the device to locate your identification for follow up. Apart from that, we have experts and equipments/updates that constantly monitor and update the land mark data in Nigeria.
Future of Prosellers
In the next five years, we want to see Prosellers becoming a bigger company in the African continent in providing sales and marketing services to the tracking device, and that our partners, Tramigos are working round the clock to ensure that any new technology that is coming out of the laboratories will be transferred to Proseller immediately for sales. New innovation will be added to the tracking device in no distant time. So, we would like to stand as a bridge between innovation and market by giving satisfaction to people in the needed ICT areas.
High Cost of ICT Equipment
I think that prices of ICT equipment are coming down but nevertheless, I don’t think one can talk of high cost now as a major challenge because prices are coming down globally but in a relative way. However, cost poses a challenge because of the economic nature of our society today, and government is not making any efforts to provide infrastructure to lessen the burden of vendors of ICT device and system in the market.

The event according Ken Nwogbo, editor-in-chief of Nigeria Communications Week,“is digital transformation edition” will hold on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the Four Points by Sheraton, Lagos.
Africa’s BoICT Lecture is designed to explore efforts to put Nigeria on the global Information and Communications Technologies map.
It will also to recognise and celebrate organisations and individuals in the ICT and banking industries that have impacted in digital transformation of the economy.
Nwogbo said that Dr. Maida, oversees the regulation, development, and strategic direction of the Nigerian telecommunications industry.
His administration at the NCC, actively drives initiatives to improve telecom consumer experience, enhance infrastructure, and foster collaborations (such as with the Central Bank of Nigeria) to protect citizens from financial fraud
He holds a PhD in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath, UK.
Prior to joining the NCC, he served as the Executive Director, Technology and Operations at the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc (NIBSS).
At NIBSS, Dr. Maida was responsible for spearheading the technical and operational standardization of all devices deployed in the financial system in Nigeria for interoperability.
He led a dynamic team that ensured that all terminals used in the e-payment industry and all devices deployed in Nigeria would accept all cards issued by banks and other licensed card schemes without discrimination.
Prior to his appointment at NIBSS, Maida was the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at the Nigerian-based FinTech Arca Payments Network and Senior Manager at Cisco Systems, United Kingdom.
As a seasoned technical professional with over 15 years of multi-functional and international experience in FinTech & Telecoms & Enterprise Technology, Dr. Maida between 2010 and 2014, worked as a Network Design Consultant at EE, part of BT Group, and one of the largest mobile communications companies in the UK.
He was also at some point (2006-2010) a System Engineer at Ubiquisys, a leading company in intelligent 3G and LTE small cells, which is now part of Cisco.
Dr. Maida will be joining will join top dignitaries who have graced the event in the past including: Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, former executive vice-chairman, Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC); Engr. Yomi Bolarinwa, former Director-General of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC); Dr. Jean Luc Fort, CEO at OR System France and a specialist in Counterparty Risk; and Professor Chris Nwagboso, Chairman, Knowledge Factory International, United Kingdom.

Pantami, Ex Minister of Communication Withdraws from Gombe APC Governorship Primaries over Alleged Electoral Violations
Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, former minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Gombe State, citing alleged violations of the Electoral Act 2026 and failure by party officials to provide conditions necessary for a credible primary process.

Pantami announced his withdrawal in a statement issued by Barrister Ibrahim M. Attahir on behalf of the Pantamiyya Movement.
The former minister said his decision followed extensive consultations with stakeholders and careful assessment of developments surrounding the APC direct primaries in the state.
According to the statement, Pantami participated fully in the governorship process out of loyalty to the APC after accepting appeals from party leaders, youths, women groups and other stakeholders urging him to contest for the state’s top seat.
The statement noted that Pantami complied with all party requirements and procedures and was the only governorship aspirant represented at the Peace Accord meeting organised by the Nigeria Police Force, Gombe State Command, on May 14, 2026.
It added that his representative was also the only aspirant’s delegate who signed the peace accord during the event.
Despite this, the Pantamiyya Movement alleged that the APC leadership repeatedly failed to provide critical information relating to the conduct of the direct primaries.
According to the statement, several letters sent by Pantami’s solicitors to relevant organs of the party seeking clarification on procedures, accreditation, collation centres and other operational details were neither acknowledged nor responded to.
“In a democracy, the law must guide the process. Non-compliance with the Electoral Act 2026 and the party guidelines renders the exercise unsafe and illegitimate,” the statement said.
The movement further alleged that no actual election took place during the recent National Assembly direct primaries conducted in Gombe State on May 16 and 18, 2026, claiming that many aspirants were not informed about voting venues, accreditation procedures or collation arrangements before results were announced.
The statement maintained that Pantami’s political strength lies in his grassroots support base, particularly among youths and women, but alleged that ordinary party members were sidelined in the recent primaries.
It also claimed that despite President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s insistence on credible and transparent direct primaries, the directives were allegedly not implemented in Gombe State.
“Prof. Pantami had requested details on the time and place for accreditation of agents and observers, the procedures for accreditation, voting and collation, and the location of collation centres. This information should have been provided to all aspirants without being solicited. As of this moment, nothing has been provided,” the statement added.
Pantami expressed appreciation to supporters, especially youths who reportedly raised funds through crowdfunding to purchase his expression of interest and nomination forms.
The movement disclosed that donations from supporters ranged between ₦5,000 and ₦4 million, with contributors publicly sharing receipts online.
The former minister also thanked women groups, coordinators at ward and local government levels, elders, campaign officials and members of the Campaign Coordinating Committee for their support and loyalty throughout the process.
He urged his supporters to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding, stressing that democracy must be anchored on the rule of law, peace and security.
The statement added that the Pantamiyya Movement would communicate its next political direction and future plans to supporters and followers across Gombe State and the country in due course.
“All followers, admirers and supporters of Malam Pantami are to remain united for the next alignment and realignment in the political space,” the statement said.
Pantami’s withdrawal is expected to significantly reshape political calculations within the APC ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State, given his strong support base among youths and grassroots mobilisers.

According to a statement made available by the U.S Embassy, Abuja, U.STDA, disclosed the funding for a feasibility study to install approximately 1,500 turnkey mobile communications base stations for deployment of wireless technology across Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria.
The deployment of American-made mobile base stations, it further stated will address West Africa’s urban-rural connectivity gap and provide millions of West Africans with faster, more reliable mobile access, aimed at supporting economic activity in areas.
The statement reads: “USTDA announced funding for a feasibility study to install approximately 1,500 turnkey mobile communications base stations from Massachusetts-based company Vanu Inc. (Vanu), across Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria.
“USTDA is bringing private sector solutions to unlock widespread, affordable, trusted internet access in off-grid communities across West Africa,” said Thomas R. Hardy, USTDA’s deputy director.
“By helping American companies compete in these critical markets, we are offering an alternative to insecure infrastructure while creating export opportunities that make America more prosperous.”
“USTDA’s assistance will fund the study for Vanu Côte d’Ivoire, which has selected Georgia-based Vernonburg Group LLC to provide U.S. expertise to assess the commercial viability of large-scale deployment and help mobilize financing for implementation.
The study will evaluate existing network infrastructure, analyze market conditions across all four countries, assess legal and regulatory frameworks, and develop a comprehensive financing plan.
The project will generate substantial opportunities to deploy trusted U.S. wireless solutions, network management systems, and other digital infrastructure throughout the project’s implementation.
“The deployment of American-made mobile base stations will address West Africa’s urban-rural connectivity gap and provide millions of West Africans with faster, more reliable mobile access, supporting economic activity in areas that have historically been offline or limited to outdated 2G and 3G networks.
