As part of Institute of Information Management (IIM) continuing professional development (IIM-CPD) programme, the Institute in Africa (IIM-Africa) has scheduled a number of international programmes for the members in the coming year.
According to Dr Oyedokun Oyewole, president and chairman of the Institute’s Council told members that “information management professionals are expected to maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills”.
And as a result, Oyedokun in a statement made available to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek by Mrs. Abiola Juliana, training coordinator for the Institute, said they have outlined a number of interesting international programs organised by the Internationals partners and associates for IIM-A members to attend.
According to the Institute, attending any of the programms earns CPD points towards any member’s IIM Certification: “The programmes include: Event: IAPP Global Privacy Summit 2015 holding in March 4-6, 2015 at Washington, DC USA; Information and Records Management Society Annual Conference 2015 from May 17-19, 2015 at Celtic Manor, UK and The National Conference on Managing Electronic Records also in May from 18-20, 2015 at The Westin Hotel, Downtown Chicago, USA.
He said that the Institute is in the process of negotiating special discounts for the members, while expecting them to leverage on the opportunity to boost their professional competences and chances in the industry.
The President and Chairman in Council added that other programms are to be announced including the Information Governance Conference of which date is yet to be scheduled by the organisers in the USA.
